MUSC Ashley River Tower Opening : What a fun challenge to create an exciting environment for an Art Opening within a new hospital! After opening comments from MUSC president Dr. Ray Greenberg, guests enjoy a sojourn through four floors of the hospital to view the art where bartenders for "refreshening of drinks" where available on each floor, MOMA style florals and hors d'ouvres presented by JMC's caterer of choice for the evening, Iverson Catering.

Center for Women's Anniversary Party : We were happy to plan this flowerless for event when called upon by Jannet Robinson Alterman, the executive director for the Center for Women. This needed to be a celebration with lots of excitement, but not expense. Hence, we broke the evening into two parts - cabaret with chantuese Peggy Lewis followed by dancing with local band Minimum Wage. JMC Charleston encouraged a drawing to take place for a special prize to be given, which was a big hit as well.

Opening Party for Sue Monk Kid's newest novel, The Mermaid Chair. : Sue Monk Kidd, Author of the Secret Life of Bees, gave a party with three friends to celebrate the completion of her newest novel, The Mermaid Chair. Asked to design a black tie event in the Spring for 200 guests, JMC Charleston choose the grand ballroom of the historic Francis Marion Hotel. Playing from the cover of the book, the decor elements featured elements from the sea. These elements were apparent in the linens, the candle holders, the net covered Mermaid Chair as well as the sugar sand dunes covered in chocolate shells.

Distinctively Charleston Food and Wine Festival Black, Red and White Gala : We choose Patriots Point to erect a 60 x 180 ft tent for 13 of Charleston's finest chefs to prepare tapas size portions for 250 guests. Local wine merchants were on hand to pour a variety of wines which matched up beautifully with the items offered. The red, black and white theme was a winner, with thousands of long stemmed roses being flown in from South America, accented with stunning back and white satin cloths.

Cirque de Charleston Cocktail Party at the Riviera Theater : This Cirque de Charleston Theme in the Riviera Theater in Charleston offered our guests a contemporary festival atmosphere having just arrived in Charleston. As cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were served, the 10 person professional dance troupe from New York changed costumes 4 times each, offering the guests 40 different costumes and charachters to enjoy over a three hour period.
